I am missing summer. So instead of blogging one of my latest winter sessions, I decided to throw it back to this summer at the Mantua poppy fields in Utah.
I know I have talked before about my bucket list of places to shoot. Mantua was definitely one of the top places on my list! Lucky for me, I know several cute families in Utah that let me take their pictures in the poppy fields.
This is the Wood Family. Makelle’s parents and my parents were best friends in college. They are still great friends and see each other often.
I have to tell you this hilarious story, because I think it’s so funny how my parents met. My dad, at the beginning of a new semester, went to a prep for marriage class. He saw two really cute girls, so he told his roommate Mike (Makelle’s dad) that he had to go with him to the class to check out the hot girls. When they got to class, the two girls were gone. But my dad said to Mike, “Those two girls aren’t bad [pointing to my mom and Makelle’s mom]. How about them?”
So that’s how it all began. They both ended up marrying the girls they met in their prep for marriage class. To my dad’s credit, he later admitted that my mom and her friend we much cuter than the first two girls.
Makelle is just one year older than I am. She started dating her husband in high school. She waited for him on his mission, and they now have two of the cutest boys I have ever seen.
It was so much fun photographing this family! Bless their hearts, they had just barely gotten back from California a few hours before this shoot. They were nice enough to hop in their car and drive up to Mantua. As if they hadn’t already been in the car long enough haha. I’m sure happy they did, though! Their pictures turned out adorable. Thanks Wood Fam! You guys are so stinking’ cute and I’m so happy I got to photograph you guys and your cute boys.
