I took a small little break from blogging over Christmas. It was refreshing to be able to focus on my family and have quality time with my husband, who had quite a bit of time off of work. But I’m back and ready to accomplish some big things in 2021!
For Christmas this year, we went to Bear Lake with Robbie’s siblings. We rented a big Airbnb and all stayed in the same house. It was a lot of fun!
The second morning we all woke up to an alarm going off in the house. Turns out there was a carbon monoxide leak! So I hopped on the Airbnb website and found us another place to stay for the rest of the trip. Thank heavens nobody got sick. The fire marshal came out and tested the kids’ CO levels, and everyone was good. We were so grateful that they had a CO monitor.
We went ice fishing, which was a lot of fun! (Thanks uncle Brent!) Henry prayed to catch a fish, so of course we couldn’t leave until it happened. He didn’t last too long in the cold, but the cousins caught one while Henry was in the car. We ran out to look at it, because I needed Henry to know that his prayer was answered haha.
Henry and Will loved running around a huge house with all of their cousins. Will wanted to live on the stairs, which gave my momma heart a mini heart attack. But he never fell more than a few steps haha.
We made tamales for Christmas Eve. It was a lot of work, but I think it could be a fun tradition. We also had huckleberry rolls for breakfast on Christmas. You can’t ever go wrong with huckleberries!
Christmas morning was a lot of fun! Robbie was such a good sport and took our live Christmas tree all the way to Bear Lake. So our boys got to open their gifts under a tree. Henry got Dino Strikes, which he was thrilled about. Will was mainly just into the cheap spoon that was in his stocking. 🤦🏽♀️
It was so fun to be able to step away for a little bit and spend some quality time with family. I thought it was going to be weird not having Christmas in Idaho Falls, but it wasn’t at all. It just felt so great to be with family. I hope you all had a Merry Christmas!
