I had the chance to blog this cute family when Ellie was born, but I wanted to go back and blog these photos because I am absolutely in love with them! These Idaho Falls maternity photos are some of my very faves!
I’ve said it once, and I’ll say it again- this couple is awesome! It was so much fun to take maternity photos for Tyler and Abbey. I feel like maternity photos are a big thing nowadays, and I totally understand why. It is such a special time in the lives of you and your spouse! A time of much growth, learning, and trusting in one another in the process of creating a family. Looking back, I wish so badly I would have gotten maternity photos with my first baby!
It was such a happy time for Robbie and I. I have the best memories of that fall semester when we found out I was pregnant. We were living with my friend’s mom in Rexburg, and we absolutely loved everything about it. We were out in the country, had our own little space, and got to create so many fun memories together.
The next semester was a really hard one for us. We found out that Robbie’s mom had terminal cancer. It was devastating. We were both full-time students and trying to make time to go to IF as often as possible to spend time with family. I was doing student teaching, Robbie was working his butt off in school, and maternity photos were definitely the last things on our minds. I did have Robbie snap a picture of me one day, though, after I got home from school. I remember I was 32 weeks. Looking back, it is one of my most treasured photos. It reminds me of that time in our lives- the good and the bad. How we cried together, prayed together, and spent a lot of time in the car talking together. It also helps me remember what a tender mercy Henry was in our lives. He came at just the right time and got to meet his sweet grandma before she passed away.
Photos hold different memories and meanings for different people. Maternity photos are so special because they document an incredible and sacred time in our lives. I love being able to capture moments like this for couples, because I understand the value behind remembering each stage of life!
