I had a shoot up at the St. Anthony sand dunes this week, so I decided to stop by this stylized shoot on my way up there. Man, I’m sure happy that I did! It was so gorgeous! Joni from Plush Floral and Anna from Anna Christine Photography put in a lot of work and it showed! The Avenues stylized shoot was what dreams are made of. These ladies make it so easy to create beautiful work for us photographers!
There were beautiful head pieces made of fresh florals, and an incredibly pretty arch set up with a dry dessert theme and large bouquet for the model bride that was there. And guess what? The model that they chose for the bride was my first ever room roommate!! Her name is Madison and we had such a good time together. She was a good sport, she put up with a lot from me haha. We were always good friends and it was so much fun to see her again! She has two beautiful little blonde boys, just like me. In fact, she had hers first and I loved the name Henry so much that I stole it for my little boy. She was really nice about it, haha. She said it was an honor. What a good friend!
One of the reasons I was so excited about going to this stylized shoot was to photograph the flat lays Anna and Joni had prepared. Flat lays are a great way to show off wedding details, like invitations, rings, and flowers. And at this shoot they had all three! Joni taught us a few tricks to awesome flat lays. She showed us how to create layers and space with the announcements by placing them on items of different height, like a camera lens of a phone charger. You can’t actually see the lens and charger in the picture, but it creates distance between the background and the announcements that adds a lot of depth to the photos. She also uses clay to help keep her flowers standing up for flat lay pictures. Those two tricks are going to be game changers for me in the future! So thanks Joni!
I hope you guys enjoy these beautiful pictures from this incredibly fun shoot. The white walls really help the subjects pop. It created some beautiful and simple images that I absolutely love!
