Ammon Family Photographer

One of the best parts about being an Ammon family photographer is I don’t have to go far from home to find beautiful spots to take pictures! Believe it or not, this location is just a small empty lot on the side of a busy road about ten minutes from my house. I found it one day location scouting that thought it was really cute, but kind of unconventional. But then my good photographer friend decided to take pictures there and they turned out beautifully! So when this mom told me I could choose the location, I knew exactly where I wanted to take them. 

The very best thing about this location is the lighting! It peeks through the leaves right at golden hour and gives a soft and beautiful glow. I LOVE that glow. It adds so much to photos. I like to place my clients right in front of the sun so that they really stand out in the pictures. I also like to have them face 90 degrees away from the sun so that the light hits half of their face. It creates a beautiful side light that adds a lot of dimension to the photos. 

I have taken this family’s pictures several times before. With one boy and two girls, it has always just seemed right to me to have the two sisters give the brother a kiss on each cheek at the same time for a picture. But Griffin HATES it haha. So last time I took his pictures, I promised him I wouldn’t have them do it again. And I intended to follow through with that promise! But his sisters pulled a fast one on him and planned it without him knowing. He was so disgusted and it was pretty funny, haha.
