These Kelly Canyon family pictures turned out so cute! You can’t go wrong with taking pictures up Kelly Canyon. This particular spot was one of the first spots I started shooting as a photographer, and I still love it! The colors and depth of field are perfect for dreamy summer or fall photos.
I have been going to Kelly Canyon since I was a kid. My elementary school used to do the ski club at the resort there. In middle school, I switched over to snowboarding, and haven’t really quit! I am not a hardcore snowboarder by any means, but I do enjoy going once or twice a year. I always go with my same childhood best friend, Grace. It has become a fun little tradition.
I have still been going these last six years while being pregnant and breast feeding. I wanted to go again this year and didn’t think much of it until I was up at the hill trying to put on my snow pants that didn’t fit. It was then that I realized that I was several months further along than I had been on past snowboarding trips. 😂 I still went down a few times, but it didn’t take me long to realize that it was very hard to stand up after falling down with a large belly. And it was very cold without snow pants. Needless to say, this year’s snowboarding trip didn’t last as long as they have in years past haha.
We also love going up Kelly Canyon to pick huckleberries in August. There are so many spots up at old dusty road! You can pretty much pull over anywhere and successfully find a good patch of berries. It’s a must-do on your Idaho bucket list.
I was happy I got to take this family’s photos. They used to live down the street from me, and it was so good to see them and catch up. Their kids are adorable and it was so fun capturing their cute little personalities. If you are wanting pictures up Kelly Canyon, reach out to me here! I would love to help you make your photo dreams a reality. Thanks for reading along!
