Island Park Photographer

The best part about being an Island Park photographer is that I get to spend a lot of time in one of the most beautiful places in Idaho! I typically take pictures at people’s cabins, and there always seems to be a pretty field or a beautiful lake view within walking distance from the family cabin or Airbnb. 

This family was no exception! They had this pretty field about 150 yards from their multi-generational cabin. The flowers and fence helped me know right away that this was where we wanted to take their pictures. I also always look for a spot where their faces will be shaded from the sun. The sun was to their backs at sunset, which made this the perfect location.

This family was so, so sweet. I was great friends with one of their daughters-in-law in high school and absolutely loved the chance to catch up with her and take pictures of her precious little family! The whole extended family was so nice and took time to show me around their property. They have a dock in the back that has access to the lake, which looked like so much fun!

I know taking family pictures isn’t always ideal at a family reunion, but it is always 100% worth it. I don’t know of a single family who has looked back and wished they hadn’t made time for pictures. I make sure that my family always plans for pictures at our annual reunions at Bear Lake. They are so fun to look back on and remember the good times and the fun stages of each of the kids.
