What to Wear for Engagement Photos

Planning outfits for an engagement session can be a little stressful! I would love to share some of my favorite tips with your guys that will give you those DREAMY engagement photos you have always wanted! I hope you enjoy my guide on what to wear for engagement photos. 🙂

Dress up! Jeans are nice for every day use, but I would choose something dressier for your photos. Girls, find a cute dress or two! Guys, you can’t go wrong with slacks and button up shirts. (No, suits aren’t too dressy for engagement photos!! Make your lady happy and put on that snazzy suit in your closet 😉)
Light colors create really creamy, dreamy pictures. Light pick, light blue, white, grey, and light brown all look really nice! Light, earthy tones are my favorites.
Bring a couple of different outfits. I promise you won’t regret it! It is always nice to have a variety when you are choosing pictures for your announcements. And don’t worry too much about the changing process, I have a pop up tent I will bring to make things go quickly and smoothly.
Accessorize! Necklaces, earrings, bracelets, and watches can go a long way. They really dress up the photos.
Your outfits don’t need to match. In fact, it’s better if they don’t! It’s best when they compliment each other. Girls, choose a color you really like on yourselves and find an outfit in that color. Then, find another color that looks great with your outfit and get a button up shirt in that color for your man. It’s nice to have a variety of colors in photos. (Tip: you can’t go wrong with mostly neutrals and pops of color here and there.)
Try to avoid distracting patterns. We want to focus of the pictures to be on your cute faces!
