I can’t wait to share our love story with you guys! I had an instant crush on my husband the first time I laid eyes on him, no joke. It was at a joint assembly with our rival high school. I found out who he was and conveniently became friends with his friends. We started hanging out our senior year of high school and ended up going to our last high school dance together. We remained friends and went up to BYUI at the same time. The last day of our first semester of college, though, I saw him holding hands with another girl. We had only been friends up until that point, but it still crushed me. I went home crying.
We both went our separate ways and dated other people. We both served missions. Our missions overlapped about six months, so we wrote a little bit back and forth while we were both out. We didn’t get together, though, until after I got home from my mission.
I was so excited when he messaged me after I got home. I remember the first time I saw him after getting home off my mission, he came up and gave me a huge hug. He was so excited to see me and I instantly got those same butterflies I had in high school. We started dating pretty soon after, and he quickly swept me right off of my feet. We were inseparable and had the best time dating that semester.
Over Christmas break, my friend invited me to go to Buffalo Wild Wings with her. Before we went in to the restaurant, she insisted that we went to the pier to take a picture, even though it was legit like negative fifteen degrees. Robbie was there waiting for me, playing the song we had danced to together in high school. We danced and he asked me to marry him. And then huge fireworks started going off across the river. Haha, not even kidding! He really outdid himself. It felt like a scene straight outa a movie and is still one of my very favorite memories. I love that boy so much.
We got married in the Rexburg Temple the following April and have been super happy together ever since! We have been married for five years now. I love our love story. I know it sounds cliche guys, but Robbie is perfect for me. We are both easy going, driven, and support each other in our goals. We love to play tennis together, wrangle our boys together, and watch The Office together. He doesn’t get mad when I order take out every night for dinner, and I don’t get mad when he stays up watching tennis into all hours of the night. Some things were just meant to be, and I feel like we are one of those things. I’m so grateful to have Robbie as my best friend and eternal companion. He legit is the best for me in every way. Love you forever Bob!
